Officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department were called around 6:15 p.m. on Thursday to the 1100 block of Reece Road in Severn to investigate a reported home invasion robbery.

According to police the home invader - later identified as Glen Burnie resident Zymirah Tasha Tahirah McGill - splashed an unknown substance in the woman's face, leaving her temporarily blinded and prone for an attack.

McGill proceeded to assault the woman, stole a cell phone and a purse with cash and credit cards inside, though she didn't get far.

During the investigation, McGill was identified as a suspect, police say, and she was tracked down, arrested and charged with robbery and other offenses in connection to the home invasion.
